I have been looking at this program and the competition and they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

The two basic features that surfulater seems to be missing is a spell checker ( a must for any software that allows the creation and editing of text) and the ability to create alarms/reminders against items.

Of all the tools of this type this wins hands down on the presentation of captured data.

At the moment I use Ultra Recall but see myself moving over when a few of the planned features are implemented.

It is indeed a great tool to collect and organize materials from Web searches. I am testing it right now while translating a text on humanitarian international law. As I google the citations, I collect them with Surfulater in a dedicated folder. That includes the web pages themselves as well as the quotations I need. All very neat and easy to use. What's more, I can e-mail the more interesting references (agreements, etc.) to a Google Group of translators working for the same agency. I created the group to share references and Surfulater makes it very easy to share them.
